As part of their ongoing commitment to food safety education and training for their customers, Flavorseal is pleased to recommend an upcoming conference and workshop on Reduced Oxygen Packaging (ROP) in the retail and foodservice setting.
Developed by The International Association for Food Protection and the Retail-Foodservice Food Safety Consortium, this conference will be an in depth discussion of the applications, advantages and limitations to using reduced oxygen packaging in the foodservice setting. A separate workshop will follow to address reduced oxygen packaging and how it affects HACCP plans.
The two-day conference, which takes place September 20 and 21 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, will feature over 10 speakers including Chef Tim Franks from Flavorseal. The conference will end with a speaker panel to allow time for questions and more in-depth discussion of specific issues.
Immediately following the conference on September 22, will be a day-long workshop on writing HACCP plans for reduced oxygen packaging. Presented by Dr. Brian Nummer, a Food Microbiologist and Extension Specialist from Utah State University, this workshop will provide attendees with a detailed overview of reduced oxygen packaging processing with an emphasis on how it affects HACCP plans, and help attendees begin to develop a HACCP plan for a retail or food service setting.
This three-day program is a unique opportunity for operators, industry professionals and regulatory personnel to gain a comprehensive understanding of reduced oxygen packaging and its impact on HACCP plans. It is also a great chance for them to make valuable industry contacts. Attendees can register for one or both the Conference and Workshop here.
